Chen-Hui Chen, Ph.D. is an associate research fellow in the Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology at Academia Sinica. Chen received his Ph.D. in Genetics from Dartmouth College, and had his postdoctoral training in Dr. Ken Poss’s laboratory at Duke University. He joined the faculty at Academia Sinica in 2016. His research is focused on determining cellular mechanisms of morphogenesis that occur on the scales of tissues and whole organisms in a vertebrate model. His group developed multicolor cell barcoding tools for long-term monitoring of skin cell behavior in live zebrafish. They identified dominant stem cell clones in the zebrafish skin epidermis, and captured a distinct mode of cell division that occurs without DNA replication.
